Newar Bodysuit

The Berlin tattoo scene is one of the most advanced, educated, and up-to-date in the world. You can find specialists in any tattoo style here. It’s also a great city to learn the tattoo craft, which is why I chose this city as my base.

I have been tattooing in Berlin for more than a decade now and have witnessed many tattoo trends come and go. For this reason, I always try to stick to traditional styles to develop timeless designs. Trends certainly affect my work in certain ways, but I highly value tattoo traditions and create designs inspired by art that has been around for thousands of years. I hope that this approach will result in tattoos that will age well, both technically and aesthetically.

During my visit to Nepal, I had the opportunity to become familiar with the Newar art of the Kathmandu Valley. Ever since, I have been studying it and incorporating it into my tattoo projects. I find it incredibly suitable for tattooing, as it allows me to create beautiful shapes while also providing meaningful significance. My latest drawing is a good example of this study.

We used to strive for perfectly clean drawings, but with the creation of the iPad, digital ideal clean drawings became rather boring than a sign of quality. This is why I allow myself to leave all the imperfections in the design.

Full body ornamental tattoo concept painting. Pens, Ink and coffee on multimedia paper.

Nepali-art inspired body-suit blackwork tattoo concept.

I would love to tattoo it someday, or create a similar style full-sleeve or full-back ornamental tattoo projects.
